Before I start sharing my very deepest thoughts about paladin's with the World of Warcraft blogging community I thought I should post some information about myself, play style, and background.
I consider myself and avid gamer and casual raider. I make a very distinct distinction between the two because while I play my game of choice many hours a week I do not devote my every waking moment to raiding or raid progression. This is not to say that I am not very dedicated to raiding either, I simply am not a person who enjoys wiping on an incredibly difficult boss repeatedly for 6 hours 4 nights a week till something magical clicks. I would much rather prefer farming the bosses within our reach attempting the new progression bosses a night a week as the guild progresses its gearing to make that encounter easier, using those extra days to farm for materials to improve my gear and my friends or just go have undevoted fun.
Ive been playing MMOs for about ten years I started in Everquest with the Luclin expansion. In that game I was a very casual player who played alot but did not get alot done. My lvl 50 Shaman was my highest character with a slew of many other alternate characters. I've since played many game titles including but not limited to Star Wars Galaxies, City of Heroes, Vanguard, Dark Ages of Camelot to name a few.
I've been the guild leader of both a PVP and a PVE guild as well as a RP guild. None cutting edge or top of the world but most of them middle to high end guilds with good serious players.
In World of Warcraft I was an officer and a raid leader for two years for a guild on my server until the expansion for Burning Crusades at which time my wife and I decided to give Vanguard a spin.
We have been back in WoW for roughly four months now and I have been playing my paladin almost exclusively and leveled her entirely in the post BC economy and talents.
When I originally speced for protection I never intended for it to be something that stuck with me I simply decided that since every group on my server was always looking for a tank and not a healer that it would benefit me most in the short term.
Well it's been two months now at level 70 and I don't forsee myself respecing anytime soon. I am fully geared and speced for tanking and looking forward to progressing to those ends.
Ive found in my journey that there is not alot of sources of good composited data on tankadins both for gearing, tanking, and talents. There are alot of good resources but not many that are consolidated and current. So what I decided to do was start this blog in the hopes of consolidating all the knowledge i've attained in my journey.
Keep in mind that everyones playstyle and preferences varies greatly and there are alot of right ways to play your paladin the ideas and suggestions i make here are in no way the only way to play nor do i claim them to be the best only what has best worked for me.
